How to make money in GearHeads Empire: prizes, entry fees and repairs

How race prizes are calculated, what entry fees cost, why the paid-race limit exists and how to keep your profit from going to repairs.

Money in GearHeads Empire is never free: every race has an entry fee, the car wears down and repairs cost. Players who understand those three numbers earn more from the same energy.

Where the prize comes from

A win pays more with three things:

  • Opponent strength. The stronger the rival, the bigger the prize (it grows with the square of their performance index).
  • Your car value. More expensive cars pay more, up to a 2.5x ceiling.
  • Your driver skill. Up to +40% for those who master the race type.

Each race type also has a multiplier:

TypeMultiplierCar wear
Drag1.00normal
Sprint1.15normal
Circuit1.30normal
Street1.40doubled
Drift1.50doubled

Street and Drift pay more because they wear the car twice as fast. The biggest multiplier is not always the best pick: repairs eat part of the difference.

The entry fee follows risk

The entry fee is a share of the prize paid before the race: from 25% (when your win chance is 40% or less) up to 55% (when it is 90% or more). Put differently, risky races are cheap and safe races are expensive. The game shows the estimated chance before you confirm.

The paid-race limit

So nobody turns energy into endless income, the prize shrinks with the number of paid races in 24 hours. By default, up to 24 races pay the full prize; after that it drops to 60%, 35% and 15%. Practice runs and duels do not count. Casual players never get near the limit.

Repairs: the bill people forget

Each missing condition point costs a small share of the car value, and the game caps that cost at a fraction of what a win pays. Still, leaving the car and parts below 80% hurts performance, and then you lose more races.

Rule of thumb: repair when condition starts to bother you, not only when the car breaks. Details in tuning and wear.

Bonuses that help

  • Crew: the team treasury gives up to +15% prize, depending on crew level.
  • Duels: stakes between drivers; the winner takes both stakes minus 5%.
  • Market: sell cars and parts to other players (5% fee). Selling back to the system pays 65% of the price, adjusted by condition.

Recap

  1. Pick races where your chance is good; the fee tracks the risk.
  2. Compare prize and wear before running Drift or Street.
  3. Repair early; a worn car loses prize and races.
  4. Join a crew to get the bonus.
